John E.L. Tenney

Paranormal Investigator

Author / Lecturer / Podcaster / Television Personality

John E.L. Tenney is one of the most well-recognized and highly sought-after investigators of UFO, Paranormal, and Occult phenomena in America. Mr. Tenney has been actively involved in the field of anomalistic, conspiratorial, occult, and paranormal research for almost three decades. It's estimated that over the past 28 years, more than 85,000 people have attended one of John’s signature “Weird Lectures.” His decades long quest to diversify the ideas about "odd" phenomena held by both Believers and Skeptics has brought him a wide degree of respect by those on all sides of the arguments.

John is the author of over a dozen books, (ranging in topics from psychical phenomena, fairy tales, and poetry, to Native American folklore), which showcase his encyclopedic and eclectic style of research. When he isn't tracking Michigan's Dogman, chasing down UFOs, or investigating a haunted location, he creates and hosts multiple podcasts including “Reel Lost” and “Realm of the Weird” which Real Detroit Weekly awarded, across multiple years, “Detroit’s Best Podcast”.

Aside from his lectures and due to his extended time involved in occult and anomalistic research, he has acted as a consult for numerous companies including, but not limited to: NBC, A&E, Fox, CBS, BBC, SyFy, The Detroit Free Press and Huffington Post, Men’s Health, The New York Times, and Wall Street Journal. He has worked on numerous television shows including Unsolved Mysteries, Sightings, Very Scary Stories, Paranormal State: The New Class, Ghost Stalkers, and Paranormal Lockdown.

He also, one time, very probably, saw an elf.
